Summer calls for a balance of ease and elegance, when neutral tones meet subtle warmth. This season’s fashion is rooted in feeling light, effortless, and quietly elevated—dressing not only for the sun, but for the confidence and joy that come with it.
To bring this vision to life, I connected with Mayila Dolikon, personal shopper at Holt Renfrew on Bloor Street, who curated a selection of looks that feel as natural as they are refined. “Fashion today has changed even from a year ago. It’s all about your vibe and what you want to portray,” says Dolikon.
Together, we explored the idea of effortless summer dressing—outfits that transition seamlessly from day to evening while maintaining a sense of sophistication. Inside her personal shopping studio, conversations moved easily from trend cycles to summer aspirations, all grounded in a shared appreciation for personal style. “Trends come and go. That’s why you have to value your own style, because it stays with you forever,” she explains.
With a focus on individuality, each look balances comfort with intention, elevating the everyday. “Girls are owning who they are. The world is so beautiful because there are so many shapes of us, and you need to embrace that—it’s beautiful,” Dolikon adds. This season, through soft neutrals and considered silhouettes, true style is defined not by trends, but by the confidence to wear what feels undeniably your own.
Opposites attract—one look leans feminine and refined in an Issey Miyake Hatching Pleats set styled with Jimmy Choo Leo heels, while the other embraces a more tailored edge with a Theory top and Shona Joy pants, paired with Aquazzura Calypso sandals. Different in spirit, yet equally effortless and polished.
