An Evening of Excellence

Toronto’s legal community gathered in style at the Omni King Edward Hotel for the 2026 Toronto Lawyers’ Association (TLA) Awards Gala, an evening dedicated to celebrating excellence across the sector.
The gala brought together leaders, rising stars, and TLA members, recognizing contributions across generations and practice areas while highlighting the depth and diversity of Toronto’s legal community. This year’s honourees embodied that standard. The TLA Award of Distinction was awarded to Tom Curry for his lifetime of excellence and outstanding achievements; the Honsberger Award was presented to Gerald Chan for his commitment to knowledge, advocacy, and community; and the TLA Emerging Excellence Award was given to Dasha Peregoudova for her leadership and innovation in her first decade of practice. More than a celebration, the evening underscored the strength of connection within Toronto’s legal community.
