Hotel For The Holidays

From memorable events to in-room surprises, kids get VIP treatment this winter with a special Hotel X package starring Santa Claus.

Christmas time is particularly special for kids, and during this holiday season, Hotel X is making sure its littlest guests make core memories that will last a lifetime. This December, the urban oasis with iconic city views is being transformed into a winter wonderland. And the main event? Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus (plus a few of their favourite magical helpers).

In addition to Mr. Claus’s grand arrival, activities include face painting, story time with Mrs. Claus, writing and delivering letters to Santa, plus plenty of precious photo opportunities. The seasonal-themed breakfast buffet includes (to name a few) fluffy “Prancer” pancakes topped with whipped cream, vanilla yogurt parfaits with wild strawberry compote and granola, carved holiday ham with apple cider sauce, and holiday eggs Benedict with caramelized onions, fire-roasted mushrooms and pan-flashed spinach served on a flaky fresh croissant. Plus, plenty of mini pastries and fresh fruit.

The breakfast is being held on December 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and on December 14, 20 and 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.  It is open to the public for bookings via Eventbrite. However, to snag VIP seating, make sure to reserve the Holiday Family Fun Package, which can be booked for the night before the breakfast. Not only do the little ones get to sit near Santa and Mrs. Claus and enjoy all the breakfast event’s activities, they also get 1.5 hours of kid-friendly activities per night booked. That means access to the 10XTO Athletic Club’s Games Room, Sports Simulator, or Kid’s Play Centre (a caregiver-supervised 3,000-square-foot space with its own sports court, toys, books, video game consoles and quiet area). And when they’re with you in the room, they can lounge in complimentary child-sized slippers and a plush robe. They’ll also find a special snowflake ornament in the room, plus candy canes and chocolate chip cookies—because why should Santa get all the sweets?—as well as a surprise take-home keepsake so the memories last long after checkout time.

Whatever the season or celebration, Hotel X is always an ideal, and Instagrammable, place to make memories.

Have a baby in the family, or other children under five years old? You’ll receive a $200 promo code for CYBEX products at Dear-Born Baby, as well as a CYBEX changing bag. Plus, you can hit the town in style with a complimentary, chariot-inspired “Wings” stroller from CYBEX and lauded designer Jeremy Scott, who has designed for Adidas and Moschino, not to mention Madonna, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. And, because every parent knows that travelling light is a thing of the past, all families will also enjoy complimentary self-parking for one vehicle, each day.

Whatever the season or celebration, Hotel X is always an ideal—and Instagrammable—place to make memories, with or without the kids in tow. Nestled on the shores of Lake Ontario, within the Princes’ Gates, the hotel has the energy of a cottage country resort but is steps away from the bustling city.

Impressive culinary options include Roses Social, The Playbook Commons and three-level rooftop bar Valerie with striking citywide views. The heated indoor-outdoor pool on the 28th floor is open year-round and ideal for a couple’s sunset swim. The Guerlain spa makes for a great girls’ getaway, and grown-up guests also get complimentary access to the 10XTO Fitness Centre. For a cozy home-away-from-home evening you won’t forget, check out the 56-seat screening room where you can request a cinematic holiday classic. Whether that’s Home Alone with the whole family or Love Actually with your besties, it’s the perfect way to end the day.
