Spanish Spirit,
Collingwood Soul
Newly opened by INK Entertainment, Bocado Collingwood brings the warmth and energy of Spain to the heart of Collingwood. Led by executive chef Stuart Cameron, the menu draws on his culinary traditions to deliver bold Iberian flavours while staying true to Bocado’s signature charm. Set within a space layered with natural textures, inviting tones and an easy, celebratory mood, the restaurant feels both transportive and relaxed, paying tribute to Spain while embracing Collingwood’s outdoor-driven lifestyle. With a focus on Canadian ingredients and warm hospitality, Bocado Collingwood offers a dining experience that is as vibrant as it is welcoming.
Visual Language
The exhibit titled Edna Taçon: Verve and Decorum—now on display at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO)—offers an exciting reflection on the artist’s influential role in the evolution of abstract painting in Canada during the 1940s. Raised in Canada and established in Toronto’s art scene, Edna Taçon developed her visual language through floating compositions, radiant forms and fluid lines, brought to life through expressive, loosely layered colour. Curated by Renée van der Avoird, the exhibition features more than 25 works, including paper collages, oil paintings and watercolours, all archival materials from the 1940s. Presented with the support of the Taçon family, the AGO, and lenders from across Canada, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience a pivotal chapter of Canadian art history.
From Survival To Strength
Rooted in strength and vulnerability, the book Indestructible: Transforming Survival into Success traces Rose Barroso’s journey from harrowing childhood to the woman she is today. With courageous honesty, Barroso reflects on the abuse and hardship she endured at a young age and the lasting impact those experiences had on her life. Barroso’s memoir offers an intimate look at how she reshaped fear and scars into strength and purpose, ultimately rising to become one of only a few women in the highly competitive world of real estate development. Both raw and inspiring, the book is a testament to perseverance and self-made success.
The Art Of Perfume
Fragrance line Elegance Aroma is inviting aromaphiles behind the scenes with the launch of its hands-on perfumery workshop. Working with the same raw materials used by professional perfumers, participants will learn how to craft a fragrance from concept to final note. Each step is thoughtfully guided, from making a brief to representing the emotion and message behind a scent. As everything comes together, individuals are encouraged to trust their intuition and personal style, resulting in a perfume that feels distinctly their own. The experience ends with each person leaving with a custom bottle and insider knowledge of perfumery rarely shared outside the industry. Consider it a sensory journey where creativity, craftsmanship and self-expression meet.
