Larger Than Life
From advanced 3D modelling to mechanical elements and final installation, Tsemko Decor relies on a carefully honed process to create jaw-dropping sculptures and floral installations on a grand scale for almost any space or event.

Many shoppers at a local mall stopped in their tracks when encountering the colourful 40-foot-tall dragon sculpture, a past project of Tsemko Decor, a Toronto design company specializing in singular custom decorative elements for homes and businesses. Another showstopper: the vibrant hummingbird sipping from an enormous hibiscus flower suspended high overhead at the entrance to the 2025 Living Luxe Design Show.
They are but two examples of the thousands of artistic installations in the company’s portfolio, coveted by a worldwide clientele. “Every project we take on is unique,” says Tetiana Tsemko, the company’s artistic director and co-founder. “We’re also known for our giant flower sculptures, which are especially popular in spring and summer.”
Think towering tulips, peonies, poppies or almost any bloom or bouquet imaginable; Tsemko currently is putting the final flourishes on an elaborate mixed floral installation nearly 15 feet tall, each element exquisitely crafted by hand of silk, paper or more durable and weather-resistant EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) foam.
As for sculptures, not all are as big as the dragon, but most exceed 10 feet. The larger-than-life approach was co-created with Tsemko’s husband, Vadym, who oversees the team and operations as CEO. Originally from Ukraine, the couple developed and perfected the unique techniques that make the grandeur possible over the course of 15 years before moving to Canada three years ago and establishing the family business in Toronto.
For each project, the Tsemko team manages every step, from concept to final installation. The process begins with a detailed 3D model and meticulous design planning. Materials and structure are chosen carefully with consideration to how they will move and reflect in the space. Sometimes, the team also works with mechanical, kinetic and light elements to create installations that move, react and change the atmosphere—and bring each piece to breathtaking life. Tsemko says this integrated approach, where their team works on every aspect from start to finish, allows them to take abstract design ideas and turn them into complete spatial experiences.
The pair’s pioneering techniques are applied to both sculptures and flowers. By blending such modern technologies as CNC machines (computer numerical control machines for computerized cutting and shaping) and 3D printing with detailed airbrushing and handwork, they achieve one-of-a-kind aesthetics. Their two warehouses—which the co-founders prefer to call creative hubs—are hives of large-scale production. Up to 15 specialists are employed, including designers, sculptors, painters and technicians. Customers may rent or purchase in-stock items, or commission custom blooms to add an artistic touch to their commercial space or event—large and small, public and private.
The company’s versatility has attracted high-profile clients, including Disney and Amazon, as well as those with more modest budgets, and it has produced pieces for TV and film, outdoor events, shopping mall displays, and more. One floral installation even graced a royal wedding reception in Saudi Arabia. Tsemko Decor’s work also extends beyond events, with pieces for private homes, hotels, and studios, both as sculptures and embellishments for ceilings, walls and other interior features. One recent project involved a kitchen countertop with embedded mirrors to create diamond-like effects.
For the 2026 Living Luxe Design Show, Tsemko Decor will reprise its role as co-creative sponsor. And it intends to surpass the success of last year’s much-lauded installation with even bolder sculptures that incorporate lighting and kinetic elements. “We approach every project like a work of art, and the best part is seeing the emotions the completed work evokes,” Tsemko says. “Positive feedback, especially from events like this show, is a source of great pride for us.”
